homemade closet project no. 1

so this is my first project for 2013, decided that if I'm going to perfect my sewing then I would need to start making clothes for myself and others (and I'm a nut for quality clothes so my nuty-ness will help me become perfect as well lol). just made a lined crop top with a lined pencil skirt (added some shapes on the sides to play with asymmetry a bit). also this starts the beginning of my homemade closet project where I will be making clothes I plan to keep and wear like the one I'm showing here.

Love the set, what sort of material did you use? Did you draft your own pattern as well :)

thank you, it was a suit material with a distorted houndstooth print in navy blue with white. I always prefer to draft my own patterns (it helps me understand the structure of clothes)
